Rain on your Parade

No matter where you are or what you’re doing in life, there’s always people out there who insist on raining on your parade for whatever reason. You know the ones, we’ve all encountered them at some stage of our lives. They often come under various different names like: haters, trolls, energy vampires, oxygen thieves to name a few. Generally speaking – they’re a negative species who insist on hating on you, your thoughts, your feelings just because they think they can. We seldom invite them into our lives but you can bet your bottom dollar they go right ahead and invite themselves into our lives.

What I’ve learnt over the years about them is that what they say says more about them than the person they’re attacking. It’s their over educated opinions, lack of self esteem and insecurities that are being unleashed and anyone can become their targets. You’ll usually find it’s someone positive doing something positive with their lives and they want to pull them down to their level to make them feel better about themselves for whatever reason I can not fathom. I mean, just think about it for a second. The happier, more successful people become in life the more these type of people want to drag them back down to the deep dark depths of their so called existence.

It’s difficult, but not impossible to not take what they say or do personally. But you know what, we have a choice. We choose how people effect us and this is just one of those times where we get to practice making the right decision for our lives. When someone says or does something you know isn’t justified, you simply have to ignore them and chose to take the higher road out of there. Do not under any circumstance give in to them in any way shape or form. No matter how difficult it is be the better person and live you life with pride, integrity, values and standards.

Living your life happily and healthily is all that matters. So don’t let anyone, rain on your parade!

So good to see that you don’t allow these people to drag you down Lia. You are on such a positive roll. When faced with these kind of people, I think of how insecure or unhappy they must be feeling, which kind of makes me feel sorry for them. They are obviously missing out on the happiness they see reflected in your life. It’s sad really.

WOW I’m getting quite the response from this post. I guess we’ve all pretty much been in this position before and can obviously all relate to it. I’m glad you liked it Phil. xxx
