Ever feel like you're living a life misunderstood? Like nobody understands you no matter what you say or do? Well, you're not alone. I'm guessing there's a lot of us out there that feel this way, myself included.

Life's hard, damn hard. There's no sugar coating that fact! So instead, we stumble our way through it day to day preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. Only our best isn't good enough for one person or another, and they're not backwards in coming forward about it. And here it comes, constructive feedback from them tearing into our hearts + souls. Little do they realise how personally we take it and how long it eats away at us depriving us of peace of mind, from good night sleep, from feeling generally happy.

This is where one of my favourite quotes come to mind from Louise Hay. "A thought is just a thought and a thought can be changed." Doesn't that one hit you right where it hurts? Let's step back for a minute and put this into real-life perspective. These thoughts we're thinking are words, and words are letters, letters of the alphabet. How on earth have we been so silly to allow letters of the alphabet to effect us so.

Why, because we've attached a feeling and story to each and every one of them making them into something they're not. Catastrophising them, making them ten times worse than they were in the very beginning.

But you know what, who really gives a f%&k! We're all human beings and news flash, not only are we not perfect but we don't live in a perfect world either. Let's get realistic about this s%&t, shall we?

So what if we're misunderstood by one, two even three people. The number's not important. My point is we can't please everyone all the time. We can only control what we say and do on any given day. Everything else is out of our control and what other people say, do or think is none of our business.

So let go of the people pleasing bulls%&t and focus your time + effort on being more of your true authentic self. You know, the person you are deep down in your heart + soul. The person who you dream of being but are generally too scared to be for one reason or another.

What have we got to lose? Nothing ventured nothing gained I always say so let's try this. Let's try being more of ourselves, more authentic, more true, more real, just more of everything and even then some if you want to.

Give it a try, and I will too, then drop back here again and leave me a comment sharing with me your feelings about it.
